What My Days Actually Look Like With 2 Under 2

"The real, unfiltered version nobody warns you about"

If you’ve ever wondered what life with two under two really looks like… buckle up.
It’s loud. It’s messy. It’s beautiful and exhausting all at once.
Here’s what an average day in my life looks like with a toddler and a baby—no sugarcoating, no fake “perfect mom” vibes. Just reality.

4AM: THE BABY ALARM CLOCK
Baby wakes up at 4AM for a bottle. By 4:30, he’s back down for a nap until 8AM… which sounds like a win, except now I’m wide awake.

8AM: THE HOUSE WAKES UP
The baby is up again. The toddler is awake, demanding Minnie Mouse and strawberry milk. Oh, and we can’t forget her daily routine—she insists on saying “good morning” to her baby camera. (Because moms don’t do this… one time I spoke over it and now it’s required every morning.)
Meanwhile, my husband Kyle is going to sleep after working the night shift.

9AM: CHAOS + SURVIVAL MODE
By 9AM, it already feels like I’ve lived an entire day. Whoever said two under two is “fun” clearly didn’t like sleep and wanted to feel like a robot 24/7.

10AM: THE TODDLER VS. THE DOGS
The baby goes down for another nap.
The toddler? She’s sitting at the table feeding the dogs when my back is turned. When I look, she acts like she ate all her food and yells, “All done down, Mommy!” Meanwhile the dogs are licking the floor like they just won the jackpot.
This is the part where I mentally remind myself:
 • Did she eat at least some of her food? Yes.
 • Is she a toddler? Yes.
 • Will she ask for a snack later? Yes.
Honestly, if they take 3–4 bites, it’s a win. If they eat everything? Check their temperature because it’s rare.
The baby, on the other hand? He’s a garbage disposal. He’ll eat anything—currently on Stage 2 foods and loving it. He eats 4oz at lunch and dinner plus 28oz of milk a day with zero drama.

1PM–3PM: MY SACRED QUIET TIME
This is heaven.
Both kids nap. I grind on my content—TikTok videos, Amazon reviews, editing, and setting up my checklists. I even squeeze in a load of laundry (because 1 load a day = survival).

6PM: DINNER REPEAT
Dinner is basically lunchtime on repeat. But now Kyle is awake, so the toddler doesn’t get away with feeding the dogs.
Also, Gigi is home (she lives with us) and she’s watching like a hawk. Toddler still has to feed Max, our German Shepherd, one kibble at a time until his bowl is finally full.

7PM: BATH TIME AKA SAUNA TIME
This is when the bathroom feels like a South Louisiana day after a rainstorm—humid, hot, pure chaos.
The toddler hates bath time, so we sing “Wheels on the Bus” at least 7 times while I wash her hair through the tears.
Meanwhile the baby? He usually poops in the tub. Cue toddler yelling, “Ewwww poopie!” while I drain, clean, and refill the tub all over again.

8PM: FINALLY DOWN
Baby and I go to bed at 8PM. Toddler goes down around 8:30 with Dad’s help.
But am I actually sleeping? No. I’m watching Love Island USA because it’s my little escape into “normal” life.
AND THEN… WE DO IT AGAIN.

Then we wake up and repeat it all the next day.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Two under two is not for the weak.
It’s loud. It’s overwhelming. It feels like Groundhog Day. But it’s also fleeting—and deep down, I know I’ll miss these little years when they’re gone.
So I’m soaking in the cuddles, even on the days I want to cry in the bathroom.
